6-6-06 , Just Another Day or a Sign of the Apocalypse?

June 6, 2006 (6-6-06), or 666 to some, is upon us. Will 6-6-06 be just another day, or is the Apocalypse on our doorstep? Opinions vary.

Hollywoood execs are hoping to make big bucks today.

As with most holidays, even tomorrow's devil of a date -- 6/6/06 -- has become commercialized.

Some people are really nervous and superstitious about the number 666. I have heard discussion this past week from people who are unnerved if their purchase amount comes to $6.66. They will buy something extra to avoid that number. These same people would never live in a house that had the address 666.

The reality is that numbers don't have power over us. An Apocalypse
could happen on 6-6-06. But the numbers in a date don't cause events to happen.

Numerology & Big Business

How far would you go to improve a faltering business? Could you be influenced by an astrologer/numerologist to change your business street address numbers in hopes of making your business more profitable?
I can't see it happening at the business where I work. Think of all the business envelopes, invoices and business cards that would have to be thrown out and replaced.

Maybe the above scenario doesn't happen alot, but it did happen in the beautiful city by the bay, San Francisco.

If you think there's something different about the address above the entrance of KRON television headquarters, the fortresslike building at 1001 Van Ness Avenue, you're right. The number 552 has been added.

The reason?

A station exec's astrologer advised that 1001 was a bad number for business.

And business at San Francisco's venerable Channel 4 hasn't been good lately. Advertising is down, its entertainment and local news shows lag in the ratings, and parent company Young Broadcasting, which spent $825 million to buy KRON in 2000, is swimming in red ink.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for KRON TV. One thing we do know is that the future is looking bright for Kalsi, the astrologer.

Meanwhile, the KRON door patch is paying dividends for Kalsi. In early April, he appeared as a guest on a KRON weekend interview show and the programming boss says he's entertaining the idea of finding a permanent on-air gig for the psychic.
