About The Show

Alison Mundy (Lesley Sharp, Vera Drake, Bob and Rose, The Full Monty) has a gift, but it's a gift that's destroying her life. Ever since she was a child, Alison has seen spirits, but after a near-death experience, they have taken over her life. She finds it hard to keep a grip on reality. When she passes people in the street, she doesn't always know whether they are dead or alive. She lies in bed at night and can't escape the voices that cry out to her.

Robert Bridge (Andrew Lincoln, Love Actually, This Life), Teachers, and Lie With Me), is a psychology lecturer at the university, grieving the loss of his son, Josh, who was killed in a car accident three years ago. Robert was driving the car when it happened and blames himself for Josh's death.

Robert specialises in the study of psychic mediums. Naturally a skeptic, he believes they are dishonest, preying on the emotions of the vulnerable and needy. He begins to study Alison with the intention of writing about her and the people who come to her for help. Emanual or Manny, a high school teacher with a Masters Degree in Education, died at the age of 35 after receiving poor medical care after a seizure that resulted from a head injury. Barbara Streisand was only 15 months old at the time of his death.

Animals and the Afterlife

My sweet kitty left me this past Saturday evening after having some kind of neurological event in the early hours of New Years Day. Her veterinarian felt that the symptoms she had most likely were the result of a meningioma (brain tumor).

Other than routine lab work and IV fluids for dehydration, I decided against further diagnostic tests and surgery to remove the meningioma. My kitty was twenty years old and not an ideal surgical candidate. I took her home and tried to keep her as comfortable for the remainder of her days.

Although I have three other loving pets in my home, I miss my kitty terribly. She was a part of my life and gave me unconditional love for twenty years! I have to wonder, "Is there an afterlife for animals? Will I ever see or communicate with her again?"

Yesterday I was channel surfing and happened upon a discussion about this topic on Naomi's New Morning. Kim Sheridan, a guest on Naomi's show, is the author of Animals and the Afterlife.
