Bleak Future Predicted for Philly Psychics
It seems that someone in the Philadelphia police department has too much time on their hands. Or maybe they didn't like their Psychic reading. Whatever the case, the Philadelphia police department has taken it upon themselves to drag out an old state law banning fortune telling for profit and has brought it to the attention of the city's Department of Licenses and Inspections. The law affects storefront psychics, astrologers, phrenologists and tarot-card readers who charge money for their services.
According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, inspectors have closed 16 shops since Tuesday. How many more will follow??
We all know that not all tellers of fortune are reputable. But isn't this going a bit far to shut down the business of anyone who makes a profit from predicting the future? Isn't this discrimination?
