The Fated Sky : Astrology in History
Whether you believe astrology to be a science, a pseudo-science, or just plain hocus pocus, you may find it interesting to take a historical look at how astrology has influenced the history of mankind from ancient Baghdad to modern times. Take a historical look by reading the book
The Fated Sky : Astrology in History by historian and author, Benson Brobrick.
According to Bobrick,``America would never have been discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1492 had it not been for the thought of Arab astrologers in Baghdad in the 9th century A.D.''
In this historical look at astrology you will read how kings, popes and presidents and even the stock market have been influenced by astrology.
Is the stock market influenced by astrology today? I don't know. But bloomberg.com columnist, A. Craig Copetas, makes reference to Bobrick's historical observations.
"By 1920, Wall Street trader William Gann was all but minting money by using ``astroinvestment'' strategies to predict commodity prices and stock-market swings. Part of his success was apparently based on calculating the birthday of the New York Stock Exchange, Bobrick writes.
That would be May 17, 1792. Think Taurus, sign of the bull."

Fortunetellers & Psychics Predics Hometeam Superbowl XL Win
I've been curious to know what the fortuntellers and psychics are predicting in regards to the upcoming Superbowl outcome between the Seattle Seahawks and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Sheila Lyon, co-owner of a magic shop at Seattleās Pike Place Market, was shown briefly on our local King 5 television. After consulting her tarot cards and crystal ball, she predicts that our home team, the Seahawks will win. Here is a link to her video clip: Sheila Lyon I can't get it to play in my browser, but maybe you will have better luck than me.
What are the Pittsburgh psychics predicting? I bet they aren't saying that the Seahawks will win. I think I'm right about that bet. Read Odd Jacks blog piece about fortune tellers predictions for Super Bowel XL.

It seems that the crystal balls and tarot cards are picking up the energy of the reader who truely want their home team to win. Seattle Psychics, at least those who go on record in the media, see Seattle as winning the superbowl. And Pittsburg psychics see the Steelers winnning.
If any fortune teller wants to tell me why they feel their prediction is more accurate, please feel free to contact me.
All I can say at this point is "Enjoy the Game & may the best team win!"
